The System
In the Field
Two engagements. Two types of capital challenge. One consistent approach.
Both engagements began with the Narrative-Compliance Diagnostic. The first deployed Portfolio Infrastructure and Field-Level Support across a multi-country philanthropic foundation portfolio. The second deployed the full Capital Intelligence System to enable a technology-driven development portfolio to perform and scale across Sub-Saharan Africa. Together they illustrate how the system operates across both philanthropic and infrastructure capital contexts.
Portfolio Engagement
Multi-Country Foundation — Templeton World Charity Foundation
Context
Templeton World Charity Foundation operates a multi-country philanthropic portfolio across sub-Saharan Africa, funding organizations working across early childhood development, health systems, and community resilience. The portfolio included grantees operating in significantly different regulatory, linguistic, and organizational contexts.
Diagnostic Findings
The diagnostic revealed a substantial compliance tax across the portfolio: grantee teams were spending between 40 and 60 percent of operational capacity on reporting and compliance materials that did not translate into usable insight for the foundation. Reporting formats were inconsistent, and the stories being produced were not reaching the audiences who needed them most.
System Implemented
Raey Media designed and deployed a standardized narrative and communications infrastructure across the portfolio. This included a consistent reporting framework, storytelling systems for grantee organizations, and a field-level synthesis process that gave the foundation visibility into cross-portfolio patterns.
Field Execution
We embedded directly with grantee teams to develop websites, communications materials, and narrative documentation. The work was designed to endure beyond the grant period, giving organizations tools they could own and operate independently.
Outcomes
Published materials that translated field-level work into evidence that traveled. Reduced reporting burden across participating grantees. Improved portfolio visibility for the foundation. Strengthened individual grantee communications capacity.

Institutional Funder
The second engagement addresses a different capital challenge — not philanthropic portfolio visibility, but the operational infrastructure that allows technology-driven development programs to perform, scale, and attract follow-on capital.
Infrastructure Engagement
Africa-Based Technology Portfolio — Confidential Foundation Partner
Context
A global foundation supporting technology-enabled development programs across Africa engaged Raey Media to design and implement the capital intelligence infrastructure required to support multi-country deployment and scaling. The portfolio included renewable energy access initiatives, connectivity and digital infrastructure programs, and technology-enabled community development solutions. The engineering worked. The infrastructure was being built. But without the systems to manage capital intelligently, communicate outcomes credibly, and give funders real-time visibility into what was happening across the portfolio, the work could not scale. The problem was not technical. It was an intelligence and infrastructure problem around capital.
System Context
Raey Media does not build energy systems or connectivity networks. We build the systems that allow those systems to succeed. The Capital Intelligence System provides the operational infrastructure that allows technology deployments to perform, scale, and attract additional capital. This is the layer that converts strong local pilots into scalable systemic impact.
What We Built
Portfolio-wide reporting infrastructure across grantees with standardized frameworks that allowed performance to be compared and understood across the portfolio. Data pipelines and performance dashboards providing the foundation with real-time visibility across active projects. Narrative infrastructure translating technical outcomes into investor-ready narratives, government-facing positioning, and community trust campaigns. Field-Level Support including grant writing and reporting systems, digital platforms for local operators, and embedded storytelling pipelines.
Results
35 to 50 percent reduction in grantee reporting time through standardized systems. Real-time visibility across more than 90 percent of active projects, previously fragmented or delayed. Two to three times increase in usable impact data available for funder decision-making. Faster capital deployment cycles with an estimated 20 to 30 percent improvement due to clearer performance insights. Significant improvement in follow-on funding readiness across grantees, with multiple organizations able to present investment-grade narratives.
Due to the nature of the engagement, the foundation partner is not publicly disclosed. The case reflects a real multi-country portfolio where Raey Media designed and implemented capital intelligence infrastructure to support technology-driven development initiatives across East and West Africa.
Infrastructure does not fail because of engineering. It fails because the systems around it are missing. Raey Media builds those systems.

the Diagnostic.
Every engagement in this portfolio began with a diagnostic. The diagnostic is how we understand your system before we propose anything.
