The System
In the Field
Two engagements. Two types of capital challenge. One consistent approach.
Both engagements began with the Narrative-Compliance Diagnostic. The first deployed Portfolio Infrastructure and Field-Level Support across a multi-country foundation portfolio. The second deployed Legacy Infrastructure to activate private family capital. Together they illustrate how the Capital Intelligence System operates across institutional and family foundation contexts in Africa and the Caribbean.
Portfolio Engagement
Multi-Country Foundation — Templeton World Charity Foundation
Context
Templeton World Charity Foundation operates a multi-country philanthropic portfolio across sub-Saharan Africa, funding organizations working across early childhood development, health systems, and community resilience. The portfolio included grantees operating in significantly different regulatory, linguistic, and organizational contexts.
Diagnostic Findings
The diagnostic revealed a substantial compliance tax across the portfolio: grantee teams were spending between 40 and 60 percent of operational capacity on reporting and compliance materials that did not translate into usable insight for the foundation. Reporting formats were inconsistent, and the stories being produced were not reaching the audiences who needed them most.
System Implemented
Raey Media designed and deployed a standardized narrative and communications infrastructure across the portfolio. This included a consistent reporting framework, storytelling systems for grantee organizations, and a field-level synthesis process that gave the foundation visibility into cross-portfolio patterns.
Field Execution
We embedded directly with grantee teams to develop websites, communications materials, and narrative documentation. The work was designed to endure beyond the grant period, giving organizations tools they could own and operate independently.
Outcomes
Published materials that translated field-level work into evidence that traveled. Reduced reporting burden across participating grantees. Improved portfolio visibility for the foundation. Strengthened individual grantee communications capacity.

Institutional Funder
The second engagement addresses a different capital challenge — not institutional portfolio visibility, but the activation of private family capital that had accumulated without direction.
Legacy Engagement
Bahamian Family Foundation
Context
A family foundation operating across the Bahamas, managing a philanthropic portfolio that had grown without corresponding governance infrastructure. The family was committed to long-term impact but lacked the systems to translate that commitment into coordinated, legible action.
Problem Detail
The foundation had accumulated a set of giving relationships over time but had not developed the infrastructure to assess performance, communicate impact, or align family members around a shared philanthropic identity. Capital was being deployed, but not intelligently. The problem was not intent. It was architecture.
System Built
Raey Media designed a Legacy Infrastructure engagement that began with a Narrative-Compliance Diagnostic and moved into governance design, identity development, and communications infrastructure. We built the systems the family needed to understand what they had built and communicate it coherently.
Governance Shift
The engagement produced a structured governance framework that aligned decision-making across family members, a philanthropic identity that could guide future deployment, and reporting infrastructure that gave the foundation ongoing visibility into its impact.
Outcomes
A foundation with a clear identity, structured governance, and the infrastructure to deploy capital with intention. A family aligned around a shared purpose. A platform for the next generation to engage with. Over the course of the engagement, the foundation moved from accumulated but undeployed capital to over $2M deployed across priority initiatives in the Bahamas.

Every engagement in this portfolio began with a diagnostic. The diagnostic is how we understand your system before we propose anything.
